I’m going on a trip with some friends to Mexico in December. I’m excited!
I have life threatening anaphylaxis dairy allergies, so travel is always a bit stressful for me. I’ve been to an all inclusive resort in Playa Del Carmen before which was fine, but this time we’ve decided to stay near the Romantic Zone in Puerto Vallarta for a week, and then another week in Yelapa. PV seems to actually have a surprisingly large amount of fully vegan restaurants, which I generally stick to so that I don’t risk cross contamination. So I feel quite safe in regards to going to PV.
Yelapa on the other hand I’m nervous about. With it being so small, there’s of course no vegan restaurants… But I know in general Mexican food is pretty safe to eat for a vegan. With a dairy allergy, where they don’t speak English, I do worry.
Does anyone here have any insight on travelling to Mexico, or Yelapa specifically, and if it’s a good idea to go on that leg of the trip? I could always stick to just PV but I’d love to go for the entire trip if I can.
