Question on Visceral Reactions
Post Body

My worst allergic reaction comes from peanuts. I’ve been tested and had it confirmed. I just saw a commercial where someone was eating a spoonful of peanut butter and the sight of it triggered the smell and a wave of nausea right behind it.

Obviously I was nowhere near the peanut, but still had a physical reaction. Is that some kind of psychological thing I’ve developed where my body is getting nauseous to protect me from a perceived threat, or what is the physiology behind that?
