Just a happy rant (insert appropriate synonym)
I left home in 2016 to pursue my undergrad, and since then, Allahabad has been nothing more than a week-long vacation for me. Nothing saddens me more than this, and yet, every single time in the past 8 years, whenever the time comes to board a train/flight/bus back to Allahabad, I get these butterflies in my stomach. I've lived pretty much around all directions in India to pursue my degrees and for my job, yet no city comes close to the love I have for this place!
This time, I'm coming back home after 9 long months, and I can't begin to enunciate the excitement I have to finally take a stroll in my city. Enjoy some nice Cold Coffee in the windy evening at George Cafe (the OG Allahabadis know this, the younger ones call it "New South Indian Cafe", the new ones simply know it as the place in front of Coffee House), listen to the weird-ass political conversations happening in the midst, or just park my scooty at sangam and take it all in.
I know the grass is always greener on the other side, the ones in Allahabad want to step out, the ones outside dying to come back, but I just wanted to type and let my happiness out at the fact that I'm finally going to be spending a week in my home, and not just my home, my city, MY ACTUAL HOME. :")
That's it, thanks for coming to my Ted Talk. :P
