I'm trying to figure out the best place to put this post, and if I do go there, I definitely would be looking to go to a resort and it does seem to be a resort town, so this sub is what I settled on. If it's not the right place, let me know and I will post elsewhere.
Basically, I intend on traveling to see the total solar eclipse April 8 2024. I will proooobably realistically catch it in New York State BUT the path of totality also goes right over Mazatlán and it got the cogs in my head turning haha.
I just don't really hear about the west coast of Mexico so much as a vacation spot, and I was looking at the weather on April 8 over the last few years and it seems to vary a bit, and ocean temperatures also don't seem SUPER warm that time of year. But I've never been to a tropical destination once in my life so I don't really know what kind of temperatures you're looking for on a trip like this if you want to spend a lot of time at the beach.
The alternative, obviously, is planning on a New York State eclipse trip and separately an all inclusive trip to a more "usual suspect" kind of location like Punta Cana some other time, but if I'm gonna be taking some days off next April anyway I can't help but think about the opportunity there!!!
If anyone has personal knowledge of this area I would be so very grateful for your input. :)
