So today I bought a very highly controversial Area51M. I know this laptop has a lot of flack, due to the fact Dell stopped selling the upgrade kits early on, and other issues. But I had one before, that had a 2070 in it, and a i9, and it was one of the best laptops I had ever had up till that point. However, with the chip shortage and such, finding the one I wanted, within the price range I wanted in, was difficult. I ended up settling for one that was well taken care of that has a RTX 2060 and a i7 9700K in it.
I looked everywhere I could think of after buying it, even for videos, and I can't seem to find anyone talking about how exactly they upgraded their CPU in this thing. Can it take any desktop CPU off the market that is within the 9th gen market? If I bought a 9900K would I be able to put it in the Area 51M R1? Also, would I need a new power brick and heatsink? And if I wanted to put in the 2080 in here later, would I be able to, if I found an upgrade kit for it? There's very little instructionals on the internet about this, and if anyone has successfully actually installed a i9 processor in their Area 51M R1 please let me know how exactly you did it after buying. It would be awesome to know
