RM850x (2021) in Aurora R7?
Post Body

Would the RM850x (2021) in Aurora R7? I remember reading the previous version (2018) worked but haven't seen any posts on the 2021 version (which I heard they did some changes but I'm not sure of the specifics.

Would it have all the cables for everything, also I remember reading people had issues with 3rd party supply power connecting it to the 3.5" bay (since they can't close the case without right angle cable) I'm assuming I would have issues with that too?

I don't really know much about internals for computers and also don't get it when people say like " BUT one key thing to keep in mind when installing a 3rd party PSU on an Aurora is that you use a CPU cable, NOT the pcie cable, for the GPU_PWR slot on the motherboard. You can use either 4 or 8 pin (4 4)." "For the Alienware Aurora R7, the GPU power connector on the motherboard is EPS 8-pin (4 4) . . . not PCIe 8-pin (6 2). It is the same type cable you used for CPU power connector . . . probably has 'CPU' printed on the connector. ". 1st quote is from 2018 version, not sure where 2nd one came from (forgot where I saw it), not sure if they were for the same as the 2021 version https://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/2p4gKfuMjmm5QnhaAj2QxP-970-80.jpg.webp are both the cpu and gpu pwr supposed to go to the bottom right (and both use cpu cables), and the graphic card goes to pcie near top left?

I have an i7 8700k and gtx 1080, dell only gave me the option of a 460w power supply so I was concerned about upgrading it for more headroom when I wait for the next sale.

Thanks for your time!
