"Hidden" Taxable Events?

Hey all,
I was just learning how to convert my TLM (and Aether for R Planet) into Wax, and it dawned on me that those are "trades", so I wanted to know if doing so is taxable in the same way as any other crypto trade? Seems like that could add up pretty quick if you exchange them as frequently as it would be helpful to use across games/purposes...
