Does anyone feel like Arisu was supposed to be a completely different character? In the beginning of the show, his bedroom shows geometry and algebra books everywhere. He’s playing a video game intensely, i can’t be alone in the belief that the show wants you to think he’s one of those guys that just loves animation, world building, shapes and measurements etc. This is furthered with the first game he plays in, Live or Die. Out of now where, Arisu is just a genius. He remembers the length of the car outside, remembers the lengths on a building map, all kinds of crazy algebraic things, applies them instantaneously, and uses them to beat the challenge. I really enjoyed that they made him special in someway. Not to say he isn’t special, but that almost seemed like a superpower that they had been setting him up with since the opening of the show. Yet after that, as far as i’m aware, you just never see that again? sure he still has good reason and is obviously one of the smarter people on every team he’s on, but man i’d have liked to see him break out that kind of otherworldly knowledge again. I just feel like the writers intentionally made him that way, and then kind of changed it. Does anyone else notice this?
