This is probably going to run long so here's a TLDR at the top for people only interested in the NFT aspect of the series.
New machine learning art series utilizing GAN art software to create digital art. First 24 are being airdropped to NFTarot court card (page, knight, queen, king) holders. Another 76 will be minted for 10 Algo each. These first 100 Entities are Epoch I.
What are Entities
An Entity is a force, a tension..just like in the case of a tree, the only way to know what an Entity is, is by experiencing it. It is not your reason that puts the Entity together. It is the body. You have perceived these Entities in many degrees and on many occasions. Each of those perceptions was stored in your body. The sum of those pieces is the Entity.
The guiding philosophy behind these images has been written about in texts from every corner of the world since humans could record their thoughts. There is a world within ours that is simultaneously confusing and profoundly meaningful. The most alarming information these early astral travelers brought back was that this other world was inhabited by beings.
One of my favorite contemporary authors who writes on the subject is Carlos Casteneda who trained under the Sorceror Don Juan in Mexico.
The Entities in my series are based heavily on Don Juan's description of inorganic beings in the bulk of his writings but particularly "The Art of Dreaming".
“Can we perceive those inorganic beings, don Juan?" I asked. "We certainly can," he replied. "Sorcerers do it at will. Average people do it, but they don't realize that they're doing it because they are not conscious of the existence of a twin world. When they think of a twin world, they enter into all kinds of mental masturbation, but it has never occurred to them that their fantasies have their origin in a subliminal knowledge that all of us have: that we are not alone.”
The Entities exist in a subtle dimension adjacent to us. They are neither good nor evil. They baffle the mind and have gone by many names over the millenia. Djinn, Demons, Angels, Aliens, Hallucinations, Spirits..
Why use a GAN to create the Entities?
If you're unfamiliar with how a GAN works I will give a brief description of how I make these images. A GAN is a computer software that looks at a folder of images and uses the information it gets from the images and makes its own images. Those images then are proccessed by a discriminator to pick out the ones it thinks are fake. The entities in my series have been curated from the results deemed real images by the discriminator.
This technology is ideal for capturing the Entities in living color because it takes bits and pieces of spiritual artifacts and artwork and produces something our eyes can percieve but still eludes perception.
The images take a long time to proccess and curate so the project isnt officially launching until November but just wanted to give a write up on what I'm doing because I'm really excited by whats coming out.
