I have a 159 2011 tbi also with stage one. Wrote 2 3 posts asking about some stuff. After a couple of months, the car has been a great drive, lots of issues from poor maintenance have surfaced. The car has a bad cable to the ecu, sometimes it locks the ignition, need to move the cables right under the ecu for it to start. Sometimes during a drive, the vdc, hill holder (even the speedometer sometimes doesnt show the speed) stop working and i get errors. I bought it with a minor oil leak, apparently it aint so minor, like a liter to 2000km, its multiple points, might be the pcv valve too which that greatly discouraged me from repairing it, the oil bath, around the turbo a bit, someone said it might be around the headgasket, while its not deformed, it has a sealent thats gone bad apparently. Lots of these issues cant be done as I cant find a mechanic. They kind of just wash their hands and say idk i ll ask if i know someone who might help you. While discouraged, i was thinking of keeping at it to find mechanics and everything. Now, the turbo has an issue. At full acceleration it goes to 1.6bars and simply stop spooling at 2500 rpms which is right around where it should come. It simply cuts the power, if i gently accelerate the car it goes smoothly. The turbo technically is new, all mechanics said that, yet it might look like the westgate valve has an issue. Either way, even if the turbo works normally most of the time, i ve been thinking whats the point of the car if it has so many issue. Also oxygen sensor went bad, drove it a bit like that as i had no choice, like 100 km not much, still not good on my part, some wires werent even isolated properly. They were almost touching. Lots and lots of issues, as i discover more and more. Lots of people say the tbi is a reliable engine, yet the issues just keep coming. It aint just me, i spoke to some people also with tbis and most had issues especially with oil leaks, big ones. Mine its sweating, for other she was crying oil. Are any of these issues resolvable, should i, even if i take care of it, expect more of the same? Is the engine salvageable? Maintenace i dont mind, oil filters, distribution, normal stuff to be more often. But if issues keep coming, yet even worse, older ones keep resurfacing idk what to do. Those are some pics of the oil leak. I cleand the undercarriage, drove it around 150, came back and took those pics. Also the right mirror has an issue it doesnt open properly, mechanism needs replacing and the boot doesnt open from the button, also might be some other stuff. Issues keep popping up. The engine has been remade 20000km ago, last owner lied when i asked about it. Also it had a frontal crash, idk how bad, the car report said about a minor back one, apparently lots of stuff in the front has been welded and remade, not necesarily bad but something to know. The back had a minor accident which for the insurance company it was declared as only the back bumper, yet the trunk has been affected too. It has a pretty bad paint job because of it too as i noticed. While driving on the road, small rocks scratch it and remove some of the paint. Thats not engine related tho, so its not the cars fault. Might be some other stuff, thats all i can remember now. Even if i start working on it in time, is it worth thr money time hassle? Didnt even find a mechanic yet to do it.
