Last night we took our telescope out by Double Eagle to get away from the city lights. When we were heading back, driving North, parallel to Double Eagle on my left, huge flashes of light burst through my driver’s side window blinding me for a second. When I looked in the rear view it looked like the perimeter lights around the airport were flashing but it was incredibly bright, and seemingly low for the fence lights. I have driven past this airport 100 times and have never experienced those lights. That is a dark and scary road at night. I was taken off guard by how distracting and dangerous that is for drivers. It was really scary.
