Looking for a mechanic to inspect my car

I made a rant about a local dealer the other day, and one of the people who replied recommended me bring my car to reputable, independent mechanic and asking them for an inspection.
I live near the Halfmoon / Clifton Park border, and work in the City of Albany.
I don't know much about cars, so, I'm looking for recommendations for one in the area.
The inspection is due at the end of the month.
