I am a history buff and love things like this. There is a description of the Cohoes "Kahoos" waterfall in Dutch. Roughly translated - The Cohoes(sic) waterfall is a high water'v'all (note v is an f in Dutch). It is 22 'v'athoms high...
This is Pre-British, yet there is a place called "al nova Albania." Colonye is there, as well as "Senchtade."
Further down, there is a place called "Bet lehem." I always though the British named it.
