MVP member. Fly a handful of times a year. The last few times I’ve booked online via Alaska’s website, when I state I want to check 1 bag, it then brings up the payment screen to hand them $30 even though I’m an MVP and should get 2 free checked bags per their baggage policy. This means I have to go to the ticket counter when I get to the airport and explain to an agent in person that I want to check a bag and then I have to show them my status on the Alaska app to avoid the fee they still try to charge at the airport. Should I be doing something different? Why won’t the online rez system just let me declare a bag for free?
