I’m a frequent flyer on Alaska, currently with MVP Gold status. I just booked my usual monthly flight to Boston from San Diego, and selecting Premium Class seats was available at no extra charge.
However, I booked a SAN->SEA flight and it’s charging me to choose a Premium Seat.
I see this all the time. And sometimes, one leg of a flight is free to upgrade, but the other isn’t.
Getting to select a Premium seat at no extra charge seems to be wildly inconsistent, and I can’t seem to find a pattern or method to the madness.
What gives?
