Alaska Airlines, HORRID flight
Hey y'all. I'm mainly seeking advice on my next steps here. Luckily, I've got a portion of the flight refund, but I still feel shortchanged. Let me know if I'm being unreasonable.
So, I had a round trip flight from Denver to Seattle I took two Saturday's ago. Early morning flight, direct. Flight was supposed to leave at 6:45am, ended up leaving at 11:20am. It was ridiculous. 5 hour delay that started with a late crew, then a FBI involvement regarding an emergency door opening, and a rebooking in Seattle that caused us to deboard the plane after being boarded once. People were understanding of the late crew delay but then it quickly escalated and it was just embarrassing for Alaska.
I ended up missing my initial car reservation. I had to book a last minute car reservation. I spent $200 more than I was expecting.
Anyways, they got us to Seattle safely. I called customer service right away, and they said they would refund the portion of the flight I took. Said to call back Monday because they could better assist with additional compensation.
I did call Monday, and after a pretty rude interaction with them, they said they couldn't make any promises because the person I spoke to that Saturday was "not a part of Alaska" and some outside agency. What does that even mean?
She said her supervisor would have to check out the conversation and would follow up 5-7 business days.
I called today and asked about an update. They said they would provide the refund, but would not be providing a refund for the car.
Am I shit out of luck on this?
Edit: this was DEN to SEA, 4/20-4/24, round trip.
