I’m stuck on Ch. 2 in the Way of Zen

This is my first Alan Watts book and chapter 1 was tough but 2 is even harder. I’m rereading sentences and paragraphs over and over trying to make some sense of it.
It’s pretty frustrating because I heard Watts had a way of explaining eastern culture to westerners.
I’m wondering if I should power through and get what I can get out of it, or if I’m not grasping it because I simply picked up a book I wasn’t ready to understand.
