my (26m) Q is an addict. he has struggled with Xanax addiction on and off for a years. recently, i (22f) got into a car accident and he wasn’t able to pick me up from the scene because he was passed out on his floor off xanax. after that whole debacle, he agreed to go into detox. his mom and i went to the hospital with him and found him the best detox center we could. 5 days later, he was released into an IOP program. My Q loves his doctors and the program. he’s expressed to me over and over that he really does want to quit. however, a couple of days ago i found out from a mutual friend that he bought 4 1mg xanax pills from him. I confronted my Q, he told me he didn’t want to get high off of them he just wanted his anxiety to be normal for a couple of days. i told him it’s easier not to worry about him when he is honest with me. i sympathize with him, i have panic attacks myself. i know deep down that it’s just an excuse. he knows he has a problem. do i count this as active use? i don’t know where to draw the line. i love him so much, especially after getting to spend time with my sober Q- who is easily the love of my life. support? advice? :(
