Hello! I (M23) have been already working for more than 1 year and earning fairly naman for a fresh grad. I’ve poured out most of my salary to my family (we’re a family of 5) to alleviate my parents sa mga house bills groceries and other misc expenses since I’m the eldest naman.
I volunteered to cover 3/4 of the total house bills groceries. Small portion nalang yung naiiwan sakin from my salary every month. To visualize, I’m limited to afford 1 clothing (~PHP 1500) and 1 gala (budget of ~PHP 1500) a few thousands para may baon ako everytime I have to RTO for work. Actually, halos di ko na rin naaafford yung small luxuries na namention bc I also chip in for younger brother’s shs tuition and school expenses.
For a fresh grad and despite my tenure, I’m earning good but wala pa akong ipon and parang paycheck to paycheck pa. Both of my parents have their source of income pero maliit lang, so make sense why they rely on me for most things. My mom has a small business pero ever since the pandemic maliit nalang kinikita. My dad does drive for a TNVS pero most ng kinikita napupunta sa car mortgage.
So this month, like the usual, I gave my mom my share of the expenses and sila na magbabayad. After a week, my dad asked me to pay half of the car mortgage kasi short daw siya. Binigay ko kasi kinukulit ako kahit na sagad na yung money that I have. Then the following day, my mom asked me naman to pay the rest of the utilities kasi di daw niya nabuno yung kulang from what I gave her. Then asked me to pay for my younger brother’s fieldtrip (3.5k). Dito na ata ako na frustrate. 2k nalang naiwan sakin and I have to RTO pa for a total of 5 days.
ABYG for telling my parents to be financially responsible and to budget their money. I told them na I’m pullling my weight and they should too. Medjo pissy na rin yung tone ko and parang nagbibilangan kami ng contributions sa bahay. I stayed in my room the entire weekend until now. They have a history of taking out loans for the purpose of god knows what maybe thats the reason why nagdidisappear yung pera.
PS. Sorry if conyo/maarte yung writing. I was typing this while working.
