Will be on an Asian cruise this March. Found that internet onboard isn't really that reliable aside from it being quite expensive.
Found about esim and airalo, in particular. Cruise will include Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. Wondering if it would work while we're still on sea and not yet docked at the port or on land?
From what I gathered, it uses local networks to get signal. And I was thinking that it might not be able to get any signal from any network while we are in the middle of the sea.
In any case, probably use rental pocket wifi from Klook but its more costly haha but at least I'm sure I'd get a signal cause apparently their device uses satellite and not mobile network. I could be wrong though.
Anybody experienced using Airalo at sea? How was it?
