Hello, I'm considering joining the reserves as l've just turned 25. I'm aware of the many benefits l'd be facing given my qualifications but I'm concerned with the possible downsides that i'd be facing once I sign over. I have a cyber security degree and am considering joining the reserves. I have a year of helpdesk experience and am finding it hard to break into a dedicated cyber role. I'm fine with meeting all the qualifications needed to join. My plan would be to do reserves & be an officer. My goal would be to get into DOD for my personal career and possibly renew my contract for space force down the line. Is there any downsides that i'm failing to see, or possibly a better path towards what i'm working for? Getting clearance would be a huge plus, and that's all i really need to break into the field it seems.
