Yesterday was the worst packing day we've ever had. This is our 9th PCS and we are both retiring so it's our retirement move from on base to another state. I had a referral dental appointment to go to in a nearby town so I wasn't home and my husband texted me and said he kicked the packers out of the house.

When I got home he showed me why. I had been home for the first couple hours before I went to my dental and although they were nearly 3 hours late and they brought 5 people, they were still trying to get my 4 bedroom/2 car garage packed in one day. We were contracted for 2 days of packing and 1 day of loading.

They didn't clear out dresser or nightstand drawers and just wrapped them up full of clothes and toys. They didn't adequately wrap wall decor so it got scratched as soon as they put it in the box (metal on metal). My kid's laptop was chucked in a box with christmas lights and other stuff that should have been wrapped. One guy was trying to go so fast wrapping up the kitchen table chairs that he kept tipping them/slamming them on the floor.

The furniture wasn't wrapped in moving blankets, only paper and tape, which the paper didn't cover the whole furniture so tape residue was stuck to the furniture.

They also were trying to reuse old boxes, which is a no-no, the boxes must be brand new. They were also trying to stuff everything into wardrobe boxes just to get done, instead of putting things in regular boxes.

Here's some pics of the shit job they were doing: https://imgur.com/gallery/Ljro0GB

So since it was close to 1630 here when my husband kicked them out, he wasn't able to call anyone at TMO until today. He was able to get ahold of the main moving company's customer service and told them what happened. They made note of it and said they'd work on it.

A TMO QA guy came out this morning and surveyed our concerns and said we are not being picky and are 100% justified in kicking them out. He is working on the issue.

Yesterday my husband told the lead packer guy he didn't want them to come back and wanted a different crew today. They are based about 1.5 - 2 hours away. Guess who calls this morning and says they just went through the gate? The lead guy from yesterday! So my husband told him to turn around and not to come to our house. So now we're waiting to see if they're still sending anyone or if they'll just have to finish packing AND loading tomorrow. But whoever comes out here is going to have to fix some of what the crew from yesterday did first.

We've done a couple DITY moves before but we've never had bad experiences with having people move us instead so that's why we didn't do a DITY this time. Plus since we're retiring we didn't want to do the work ourselves. The TMO QA guy seemed very helpful and I'm hoping this gets worked out soon.

Will make another update tomorrow or when this all gets solved.
