I know that goes against what we are constantly trained to do or feel. When I was a younger Airman in the dorms I was constantly bombarded by dorm buddies and squadron personnel that I should never be alone on Thanksgiving. But honestly my first Thanksgiving that I lied to them all that I had plans and just hung out alone was one of the best I ever had!
Mostly this is because Thanksgiving for me before the Air Force was a mix of learning which relative couldn't make it due to a meth arrest, drunk bitter old men, fat mean cousins and middle age women with passive aggressive abilities so powerful it would make the base housing spouse club cringe. But with me far away and alone it was nothing but peace and something truly cherished being away from.
Anyway I know that's the exception to the rule but id figure id say it since tomorrow is Thanksgiving.
