I'm going to be deployed next month, and am trying to maximize any financial benefits I get while out there. As of right now, I'm planning on cutting my Roth TSP contributions to invest more heavily in mutual funds, because I figure the money is tax free either way. To compensate, once I get back to America, I'll beef up my Roth TSP contributions for a few months. This seems like it will ultimately save me money and give me more income tax free, but I'm hoping to get some advice from more financial savvy people. Thanks!
