I recently rented a place and on my 5th day I did grocery for a week and stuffed the fridge, there are 4 rooms the owner is not present. Yesterday night time I see a stranger I thought he is a new tenant who came in. He steals my 100 dollar shoes and my groceries. The owner mentioned the door locks itself we found out we had to manually lock the door.
The strange thing is the thief blended as if he was one of the tenant and stole the stuff and left.
Worse part was support from Airbnb, who took 15 mins to verify and "the ambassador" was "why are you telling this to airbnb?" I said I rented via airbnb. he puts me on hold for 15 mins and said some department will get back to me and until now nobody did. I called the police and police mentioned they don't hand out police report, trying to get claim if possible my travel insurance would cover it.
