So I have a listing that has been live for 6 months AND I have a new listing.
When I was writing up the new listing, I had a computer window open for each listing, to make sure all the language worked for both rooms (especially since I was going from 1 listing to 2, making sure all proper areas mentioned another room in the house is listed).
As the rooms are literally the exact same size with the same amenities, I wanted the prices to be the same.
When I listed both at $54, my weekly discounts on the new room made sense - a 7% discount means the room is $352 and the monthly discount of 18% means the room is $1346.
BUT my weekly discounts on the old room is FUCKED- a 7% discount means the room is $299 and the monthly discount of 18% means the room is $1142!
As near as I can tell, despite what I have my price listed as NOW, AirBnB is probably taking the mean price from all the accepted reservations I have (some of which were $40-something) and using THAT as the base price to calculate my discounts.
I am hopping mad, and not in the mood (nor do I have the time) to get online and deal with a potentially dipshit CSR for AirBnB. To me, this is just another reason why AirBnB is doing it's absolute best to fuck over hosts.
More immediately, I am both pissed that I can't make my room prices match AND I'm pissed that I can't seem to bump up the old room weekly and monthly discounts without raising the daily price.
Has anybody else that offers multiple rooms (or multiple places) checked to see if they are also seeing this? I'd like to know if it's a problem multiple users have before I set aside the time to call and deal with AirBnB.
