Apparently the city has not inspected the electric in my AirBNB yet. I understand that such inspections are necessary, but I really feel that the inspection being scheduled during my stay and 5 days in is a bit scary. What if there is an electric problem? Is it legal to rent it out when it has not been inspected?
Also now I feel like I have to let an inspector in in the middle of my stay. I am not happy about that.
I have had no issues with the stay other than this. I intend to just let it happen but I am unhappy.
I am in the United States.
Update: when I called to talk to the city inspectors I was informed this is an unlicensed AirBNB, as a license is not applied for and the inspections are necessary to apply for it.
Update number 2: at midnight AirBNB finally got back to me about the unlicensed issue. They did issue a credit for part of my stay. My desired outcome was that they remove the listing till it was in fact registered as required in the city. They said they could not police whether every listing was abiding by law.
