To me Technological Accelerationism is a powerful idea. Accelerationism at least in the political sense talks about how, at least for it's left and right wing variants, we need to harness the momentum of current society to propel us into the end. They understand that there is momentum in a certain direction and that is almost impossible to stop; like a balling rolling down a hill. They see the world as an unstable tipping point that if shoved will collapse into one where the better system pans out via a form of political natural selection in a sense. (Either right of left depending on which you ascript to.) Basically: we either push the ball down the hill, or let it roll either way it will end up at the bottom. I also believe we are at a tipping point. We are suspended on the edge of a cliff where the casm below is just purely unfathomable to us currently. I speak of course about the technological Singularity.
The advancement of technology has so much momentum and so much potential. From the dawn of humanity until now we have been on an eternal quest to learn as much about the world around us. But think about all the stuff you can't even see, all of the em spectrum, microscopic objects, objects on the inter-galatic scale or even the world outside of your own point of view. A.I has the potential to not even just understand and "see" and then further process those things, but also, understand them so much more intuitively than humans would even be capable of. This process of continual understanding and then utilization of that understanding to make tech, to further understand is almost at the bottom of the hill. I can't wait for A.I to propel us to the end.
