Nlemeanya look down upon Her creations and wept. She understood that Death was an inseparable part of Life, and that the knowledge of an eventual end helped to drive mortals to live life to the fullest. But this was something far different. This was the lashing out of a vast Nothingness trying to be Something, as much a cry for help as a method of madness. It was a torture far beyond what mortals should have to go through without the hope of recovery or the support of their brethren. Nlemeanya knew that She could simply remove the plague from Her creation, but that would not invite a lasting change that could mitigate such things in the future, and would move Humanity to depend on miraculous intervention to solve their problems instead of their own ingenuity. So She did something else instead.
Firstly, she moved to help inspire thinkers throughout the realms of Man in the ways of basic medicine - herbal remedies, bedside practices, etc. This, combined with the utilization of basic Vis-based magic, would allow local healers to have a hope of treating cases of what has been called "The Bleeding Plague".
Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, Nlemeanya worked to establish a Medical Order - the Ordo Medicus - a group that would specialize in the treatment of the sick through a mastery of medical practices and a well-studied staff of healing mages. This order would establish field hospitals in areas of pandemics and other high concentrations of illness, and seek funding from local governments and larger kingdoms to fund the staffing, training, and housing for members of the Order. This would be an institution that would last long after "The Bleeding Plague" was gone, and could serve to provide hope and brotherhood in an oft unkind world.
Thirdly, She would instruct this order to get to work helping the realms of Man to combat the Bleeding Plague as much as they could, setting up field hospitals and working to bolster recruitment for local training in best practices for preventing the spread of plagues.
Nlemeanya hoped that this would be enough to help combat the sickness, or at the very least, provide hope to those who were afflicted.
