Map of Conquest

Introduction

In the south-east of Kaiguo, the lands of the once powerful Sawaiki lay empty without a ruler to preside over them. There was of course local bandit lords, up-jumped barons, and even peasant led coalitions like the Tàipíng Dào used to be. As the lands were without unity the Yellow Empire took that as an invitation to conquer the various tribes and towns that populated the landscape. The General Sun Yat-sen would lead the initial campaign against the Sawaiki, he was given an army of 5000 soldiers to complete the task.

The Righteous White Sun Banner

The army that Sun leads is made up of 5000 Tàipíng Dào faithful. It is organised into three groups, each under a Tàipíng Dào warlord.

The first group is the White Sun. It is made up of 600 cavalry, armed to the teeth and exceptionally well trained. The White Sun is directly under the control of General Sun Yat-sen, as these men are from his own personal guard as well as recruits he has chosen for himself.

The second group is the Lightning Rod, made up of 3500 infantry. These men are the bulk of the force, they are armed with spears, swords, shields, and will contain the largest amount of soldiers. They are lightly trained and are usually recruited from various farms, towns, villages, and cities. They all have standardised equipment and is largely provided for them by their warlord.

The third group is Heaven's rage, made up of 900 crossbowmen. These crossbowmen are the second largest group in the White Sun Banner. They are lightly trained, similar to the infantry, however, they are focused on ranged combat rather than close combat and thus are not trained as intensely as the infantry.

The Conquest of the Sawaiki

The first battle of what became known as "The Yellow Wave" campaign was in the province of Jiji. A coalition force of villagers, Sawaiki warlords, and religious radicals all united against the Yellow Wave. It was a decisive victory for the Yellow Wave as the organised cavalry seemed to overwhelm the untrained villagers that tried to fight against the radicals under Sun Yat-Sen.

The second battle wasn't as successful, with the White Sun Banner being routed by a force of heavily armed Sawaiki warlords, thought to be funded by the Halemi. However, the rout ended up beneficial as the Sawaiki grew too confident and followed the White Sun Banner into Tàipíng Dào territory where they swiftly destroyed them.

The third and final battle was in the Sawaiki city of Va'vau. It was a long siege that lasted over 3 months, until the Sawaiki sallied out from the city walls and tried to attack the White Sun Banner force. This of course failed, but it was a Pyrrhic victory for the Tàipíng Dào. If there were any more enemy forces, the campaign would have failed. Luckily for them, the Sawaiki were completely defeated.
