1500-1400 BCE
Smoke filled the air as the funeral pyre burned. As the shamans chanted, Keleku'na made his way to the gods and the ancestors. Their spells would send him to the next life with all the power and wealth he had enjoyed in this one. Many members of the tribe wailed in greif, for Keleku'na had been a good leader.
Behind the shamans stood his two sons, Keleku'an and Keleku'va. They were their father's sons, both resembling the man quite closely despite being born of different mothers. They had long been the closest of friends due to their close age. Born a mere six months apart, Keleku'an was the eldest but such a detail did not entitle him to rule. His mother had come from the northern clans, and he had long cultivated the support of their chieftains. Keleku'va had a mother from the southern clans, and he had their support. For now, they were united in grief, but soon their rivalry would become the stuff of legend.
