Hello there,

I needed a break from the endless news cycle today, so thought I'd come up with something I hope is different and perhaps painfully honest about me.

Who am I? I'm Dan. I'm 50, 6' tall and I live with my 7 (yes, 7) cats on Long Island. By day I am an IT data analyst for a major health care company. By night and weekend I host the Shelter Cats Podcast (currently between seasons 2 and 3) and volunteer for local rescue groups doing TNR and feeding homeless cats.

So here you are, the pros and cons of dating Dan.

Pro

• I still have my hair. Well, to be fair my father didn't lose his hair until he was 60, so I have 10 years left. Assuming I follow that trajectory.
• I don't need a blue pill. I'll leave this right there.
• I promise you will laugh. I pride myself in my sense of humor. It's kinda of like a stream of consciousness type of humor mixed with a healthy dose of sarcasm, usually at my own expense.
• I am passionate about animals and going out of my way for the people I care about.
• I am 2 1/2 years single after getting out of a bad long term thing. I am rested and ready for the real thing!
• I am an old school romantic, I love the holidays from Halloween on, and I'm a Christmas baby.
• I do not have a big family, so we won't have to worry about dividing our time over the holidays. I see that as a pro, how about you?
• My passions range from history to technology to travel, and I watch too much YouTube.
• You will laugh and feel loved with me. I believe that even a trip to target can be fun and romantic with the right person.
• I am relentlessly honest, you will never need to wonder what I am thinking or feeling.

Con

• If you go by my bedside sleep tracker, I snore a little at night. Nothing nasal strips can't cure.
• I am open to kids but I.also worry that that window has closed for me given the fact that I am 50.
• I am slightly jaded from the few attempts I have made at trying to date in the time I have been single.
  
• I am allergic to people who ghost and go strange after a day which happens a lot these days.
• I have not traveled much tbh, at least not recently. I've spent too much time working and doing animal rescue, perhaps we can change that?
• I am not renown for my patience.
