I'm a guy who kinda observes a lot of real life statistics. Often on the sub, I see many questions/references to how appropriate or inappropriate age gap might actually be. No keeping in mind all opinions are generally subjective and or personal, I had an opportunity recently to take sort of a head count at a public event. Also keeping in mind I'm no mathematician and I was at the event to indulge my own good time. Here's my very offhand notes. This concert/music festival was 3 days long and I camped the full 3 days. Also, while this was a metal event, the host state is red, conservative and Midwestern. Off the bat: I noted that the 20 something females with 40 something males came in at a strong 20 % (approximately). I noted that females 20-30's with 50 males hovered around 3-5%. The 20's to 40's were basically unnoticeable. Not sure if it was due to quantity or simply nobody cared enough to even raise an eyebrow. I did notice that the 20's to 50's did turn a few heads, but not enough to really stir any conversation. The age appropriate groups were the obvious majority and not really relevant to this post. I personally (60) engaged with a 20 something and we hit it off quite nicely. My point is a public event, the ratios were a bit surprising and nobody really seemed to have a lot of judgement in the matter. Maybe it was the environment. Maybe the culture...not sure...but age gap really didn't seem to be an issue.
