For me, an example oddly is an episode of Little House On The Prairie that deals with an age gap relationship between Mr. Edwards and one of Laura’s older friends who is unable to see, until a procedure gives her most of her eyesight back, and the stresses and challenges they both go through awaiting this procedure. Mr. Edwards feels he won’t be loved by her once she sees him.
However, she loves him wholeheartedly despite their age difference, and wants to spend her life with him.
I first saw the episode as a child and it stuck with me for whatever reason, even though my mom made nasty remarks throughout it. I saw it again 15 years later, when I started dating my current partner and had just been diagnosed with a developmental/ neurological disability not long before. To me it was a very beautiful and positive representation of an age gap relationship and I could relate to it even more seeing it the second time around.
Are there any other examples you have in these mediums?
