This is a very positive update! About a week ago I posted here about how upset I was by some of my male friendโ€™s perspective on my new relationship. As well as being really anxious about taking him to a Halloween party where some of these friends would be.

Well I met some of his friends last Monday and it went really well, was not awkward at all and it was nice to see the type of people he surrounds himself with. He told me they were really impressed by me which made me shed a lot of those anxieties.

And then last night we went to the Halloween party together and it was kind of like we were always the center of attention but in a really positive way! New people thought I was the younger one funnily enough, but my friends actually really welcomed him and he left a really good impression on everyone. Towards the end of the night he asked me to officially be my girlfriend and when I said yes he shouted โ€œI CAN LOVE WHO I WANT!!!โ€ And everyone clapped and cheered! People thought we had been a couple for a lot longer than a couple months which is such a good indicator of longevity I think.

I wish I could share photos of our costumes, we really killed it and I think it just added to our overall confidence. I feel so much peaceful knowing everything worked out, thank you everyone to all the words of encouragement last week, just really wanted to share the positive outcome!
