A few days ago, I told my parents that I am seeing my current girlfriend (39F). Yes, I do understand that it is a large age gap, I do not need to be told that. But, I do love this girl a lot and I know the feelings are mutual. I think about us separating and I donβt think I can do it, as she means a lot to me. We have known each other for about a year and a half, dating for about 4 months. I do not want to lose her but, ever since I told my parents, they have been cold. Essentially, barely talking to me and it makes it worse because live at home with them. What can I do to make this situation better?
TL:DR parents disapprove of my relationship with 39F.
