How can I tell the difference between younger girls flirting and if they are genuinely interested?

I have a job where I am around many younger girls.. not ones that work with me. I do get them flirting with me fairly often. I have just told myself they do it because the attention I give back makes them feel good. I totally understand why it would. I like attention like that too. My question is how do I know if they are serious about their teasing and flirting? Last thing g I want to do is be that older guy who seriously thought I had a chance. I do want to know if any of them are serious though as I am interested in exploring this.
