Hey so I’m 18 F UK, only briefly dated a guy my age and it sorta sucked, which sort of seems to be the consensus. I’ve had a few platonic encounters with older guys in public and online and they seem much more charming, mature and sweet than guys my age. I was curious about perhaps looking for an older guy but I was wondering if there is anything I should know or take into account before doing so?

Don't always make the assumption that all older guys are charming, mature, and sweet. A lot of them are, but a lot of them aren't. Don't dive into something just because the guy is older.
