calling older men "baby"

for some reason I cannot bring myself to call someone older "baby" or even "babe". maybe it's because i'm so used to calling them "daddy" only like in a sub/dom way. or I guess it's because of the literal age gap. I'm the one who's the baby lol. I also don't even know if they like it. I mean I know everyone is different but ive met some guys who only want to be called daddy because of the age gap.
is this dumb? I don't want to ask ppl what they like to be called
