I’m going on a first date with a woman 10 years younger than me for the first time. I’m just getting back into dating after a 3 year long relationship with someone 6 years younger than me. This new potential relationship definitely got me feeling self conscious dating someone in college. She has never brought up my age and has never made me feel self conscious about it. We have great banter and I like our dynamic.
My main concern is other people. Other people seeing us on dates and noticing the obvious age gap. People whispering about us. Possible running into an acquaintance or work colleague and being embarrassed.
Men (and women) who have dated somebody considerably younger… how do you get over this feeeling? How do you introduce that person to friends and family? Are you shy when you go out? Do you pick certain places to go on dates over others? Thanks for any advice in advance.
Edit: “Get over it” is not helpful advice.
