Hello, my partner (40) and I (20) have been dating for about 7 months now and it’s been my most serious relationship. We’re both on the same page about almost everything. It’s a relationship filled with communication, support, and so much love. Life is just so easy and joyful with him. I’m finally starting to feel ready to tell my family, but I’m sure that it’d come as a shock to all of them. My mom has always been especially disapproving of age gap relationship and falls into the stigma that they’re all exploitative. It really gives me so much anxiety to even think about telling them. I’m more nervous of them disapproving of my partner rather than then them disapproving of me. I don’t want them to think poorly of him and jump to assumptions. He’s a very important part of my life right now but so is my family. Has anyone else experienced this? Has anyone’s family’s opinion changed of your partner? Advice please!!
