What is your opinion on where an/your age gap preference comes from?

I'll preface this by clarifying this is not something I consider a problem nor something that needs/can be fixed.
That being said, I do have theories.
I have had repeated bad experiences with young men. I haven't had a really bad experience with any older men, I've had some really positive ones.
I generally am an anxious person and really profit from the classic calm energy older men usually bring to the table.
Specific attraction to wrinkles and gray hair - no clue.
