Hi, I am 21F and a college student that is in her last year of school. I have very nice, kind and lovely parents. The only thing is that they are very strict/controlling over my dating life. I tend to fall for older man and am currently dating Mark 46M. We hit it off great and we really like each other. We have the same humor, interests, politics and want the same thing in a family. I really like him and see myself loving him in the near future.
Before everything gets serieus and i meet his kids, i want to make sure that i broke the news to my parents. I don't want his daughters to see some enter and exit their lives randomly, i know how that can feel since my parents are divorced themselves (my father remarried and i call him and his wife my parents).
So my questions is, how do i break the news to my parents that i am dating a man that is older than me and i like very much. I don't want to lose them, but i don't want to break off my relationship either. Please be kind, i know that our age gap is something that most people find disgusting but i do really like him and he likes me back as well (i met him when i was 20, so no he didn't groom me).
