/u/buttsSeriously and I are aware that some people dislike the fairly open policy of this subreddit, and would like a similar subreddit with tighter rules, in particular an 18 only policy. As usual, since lots of people talk about it but no one does it, we are in the process of creating /r/AdultAgeGap. It'll probably be online in about a week from this post.

Please feel free to discuss what the rules of the new subreddit will be. Assume as a starting point that we have the existing rules of /r/AgeGap. Note that cross posting between the two subreddits won't be allowed and organising brigading (hate wars) between posts on each of the subreddits is already a breach of Reddit rules.

The other 'quid pro quo' of this setup is perhaps going to be a formal recognition that all 'legal' age gap relationships are 'okay' on this subreddit unless other factors apart from age indicate otherwise. This may also be true on /r/AdultAgeGap but changing 'legal' for '18 '. You are free to debate whether this is a good idea (or not) in the comments to this post.

Feel free to discuss below. Keep all comments very polite and no disparagement of anyone who disagrees with you.

Applications to moderate the new subreddit are welcome. Priority will be given to those who match some of the following criteria:

1. Existing moderators of /r/AgeGap
2. In a mature age gap relationship and/or demonstrably "pro" age gap relationships
3. Experience of moderating other subreddits
4. High karma and/or long lived user account with a track record of "sensible" comments.
