Tomentose instead of rhizo
Post Body

Hello all, i dont usually frequent here, i'm more of a r/mushroomgrowers dude.

Nonetheless, my question is to all those who have ran with both tomentose and rhizomorphic mycelium, and to get a debunked answer as to wether or not this really makes a big difference or not.

For example, i think it can be universally agreed that the appearance of rhizomorphic growth is much more aesthetically pleasing, and projects confidence in strong growth, but is it actually that much better/faster/equal-higher yeilding than rhizo?

I only ask because it has occured to me that i havent tried a side by side comparrison myself, and havent seen others do such a comparrison.

My curiosity began when i realised that some mycelium will simply not be rhizomorphic, and only be tomentose-like. my oysters tend to be much less rhizo, and enoki from my limited experience seems to be tomemtose dominant too.

I'm about to conduct my own long little experiment to debunk this, i just figured it wouldnt hurt to consult a community well versed in agar first.

Anyway, cheers for reading. Mush love
