Going forward - what’s next for this sub?
Post Body

Hey friends,

I grieve with users like u/senoto who remember a few great discussions here while the sub was more active. I also just realized that founding mod u/NationalTeamFootball is no longer on Reddit.

Justifiably passionate stances and frankly irreconcilable differences are hard to let go for me and for many of you. For instance, how can we live together if we have different definitions of life? And then there’s the bigger, dumber issue of polarization that’s deliberately and maliciously fueled by politics and special interests. If we can’t have good conversations about the former type of polarization, perhaps we would mostly agree on the latter.

What’s the best way forward for this sub? Grow? Wake up old power users?

How can we have good conversations in a way that subverts the usual issues of Reddit? Weekly/monthly brownbags where users can hold casual AMAs? “Polarization Anonymous” threads? Essay/journal/article reading groups?

I’m willing to take a chance on new mods - DM me if interested.
