I have seen several times pick up artist being mentioned in conversations regarding GamerGate, regarding feminism etc but always in a way where I find really hard to understand how do they enter into the conversation at all.
I'm going to refrain myself from giving a judgement on pick up artists at firs both to avoid coloring the opinion of the people who will reply and because .. I don't really know by which angle should I take this as I fail to realize why they are involved in any discussion even remotely tangentially relevant to the issues at hand.
So... why do they get mentioned? What is problematic, relevant or even noteworthy about them?
