I've seen many gaters complaining about how they feel wronged by Anita locking the comments on her videos, or by many forums deleting comments on the "Quinnspiracy".

I've had a gater tell me today that to him this is about how many gaming forums will ban people who "deviate from the extreme progressive authoritarian groupthink". (I did not take this at face value, but let's assume it's 100% true and on point)

Pro-GG people seem to see this kind of thing as an affront to their right to free speech - they feel that they are entitled to speak their mind on such matters on these forums, or to confront any opinion which ticks them on the platform of their choice.

I think what these people don't understand is that nobody needs to give them a pedestal. They have been so used to doing whatever they want on the internet for so long that they don't understand that a given website is completely free to ban whoever they want for saying whatever, and that is not a breach of free speech at all.

They are free to say whatever they want - but they want more - they want a platform; they feel entitled to be heard on their own terms. For a lot of people, this is what GG is about - they will be heard on their own terms, no matter who they have to attack or what they have to destroy for that.
