Just for fun:
If you had immense power, like Superman and the like, what would you do with respect to government? Would you ignore it? Would you prevent it from engaging in pre-emptive military action? Would you prevent it from committing even mild infringements of rights? Would you just try to lead by example? Would you stop paying taxes (since you can no longer be realistically threatened with violence)? Would you try to shape government by talking with political leaders? Would you use your celebrity to influence public opinion towards libertarianism? Would you keep yourself hidden from the public and subvert government?
The question is really: What would you do if the government's power to initiate force was ineffective against you?
We saw what Superman did in Superman IV, basically declare an end to nuclear armament and personally chuck every nuke into the Sun. Do you think that was an acceptable use of his power?
And even for less directly powerful superheroes, like Batman, do you think vigilante justice in his style is acceptable?
