House Wylde

House Wylde is one of the principal sworn houses of the Stormlands. The house has, at times, served in high ranking positions in the realm. The patriarch of the current generation of House Wylde is the late Lord Jasper, known as 'Ironrod'. Siring twenty-nine trueborn children from four wives, House Wylde is a tree with many branches, though this wealth of children has resulted in a dearth of wealth - twenty-nine noble children is no easy feat to maintain.

The Rain House

The Rain House, also sometimes simply named Rain House, is perched on the tip of Cape Wrath, overlooking Shipbreaker Bay. While the shores are battered frequently by rain and storm, Rain House is nestled into the Rainwood, an ancient and primeval forest that thrives in the harsh environment. As a result, the castle and its surrounding town have a thriving amber, fur-trapping, and lumber industry - with many secondary industries based on it. Ser Orys Wylde, the younger brother of Lord Rickon Wylde, for example, is a master shipwright, and takes great pride in constructing hardy ships of ancient oak - more than capable of resisting the treacherous waters of Shipbreaker Bay.

While Ser Orys spends his days overseeing the construction of vessels, Floris Wylde is the one who sells them. A capable steward, she is often in charge of Rain house - and its finances - while Lord Wylde is away on his voyages.

The Lord Wylde

As the third surviving son of Lord Jasper Wylde, Rickon was not expected to be the Lord of Rain House. Nevertheless, due to unfortunate circumstances befalling his elder brothers, Lord Rickon has found himself upon the ancestral seat. Much of the time, however, he would rather find himself at the helm of one of his brother's ships, sailing the Narrow Sea. Leaving the castle and its environs in the capable hands of his elder sister, the Lord Wylde often makes voyages to Tyrosh, Myr, and Pentos, trading valuable goods with the Free Cities - and skimming a few of the profits off the top for some fun in Essos before Floris can count the coin.
